A view from the beach- Gili Trawangan

Keckak Monkey Chant, Ubud

This is a scence from a tradtional Indonesia performance, put on by one hundred Hindu monks whereby their voices are used to create music. It was quite the spectacle !

A family affair- Ubud, Monkey Forest

Kim, I think I feel something on my head?

Indonesia

Hi everyone!!

well, we made it back safely from Indonesia and it was a blast. We spent about three weeks travelling to Bali ( Kuta and Ubud), then went to Lombok and Gili Trawangan. The weather was amazing for the first two and a half weeks and then as we left, it rained for two days straight. We have never seen rain like that in our entire lives. But the good thing it that Kuta, Bali is a lot like Wasaga Beach so there were plenty of things to keep us occupied. We met up with three people ( two from England and one from Sweeden). We eneded up travelling around with them for about three weeks and had a great time. We learnt a lot about the tricks of backpacking from them and are much wiser travellers as a result. One let down about our trip to Indonesia was the fact that we did not see one single sunset. I guess that just gives us all the more reason to go back again. We are now back in KL and it's hard to be back in the hustle and bustle of city life. The air smells dirty and the people just don't seem as warm and inviting. Oh well, I guess that just means that its time to move on again........which we are doing.

Our flight leaves to Colombo Sri Lanka at 8:10pm on the 8th of march. That should be quite the adventure so i am sure that there will be many stories to come.

Love you all and we will keep you posted as we go.

The mosquito's won this time!!!

Not even bug spary could have saved my eye from their wrath. Guess what, they got my other eye two days later. I have walked away without any permanent damage, not to worry!!

Sunday evening farewell BBQ

A pleasant evening in Gili Trawangan with our new frineds ( Alec and Anna). The perverse Sweed is taking the picture. We had a lovely BBQ, with which the fire was started with the help of a oscallating fan. Haha, the way of the Indonesian is so great. Menu consisted of a whole Snapper had by the gentlemen and two baby Tuna for sarah. Kim, on the other hand, had the worst curry known to man. The cats sure did enjoy the curry though.

Farewell Gili Trawangan...the island with no police!!!

A peaceful day on the beach in Kuta

This poor woman was bombarded by beach hawkers that will sell you the clothes off their backs if you ask them to. They are recognized by their colorful hats (names embroiderd on them) and are not affraid of physical contact, even if you are. The one in the green is Susie, Kim's new Best Friend!!!

here's the answer to everyone's question

Kim's hair has exploded one week in!!!
